October inflation reports and scheduled Federal Reserve remarks are set to put economic data in focus for U.S. markets during the week of November 9–13, according to Yardeni Quicktakes. The outlet says the consumer price index is due Tuesday and the producer price index on Friday. It also lists speeches by 10 Fed officials during the week.
The scheduled speakers are Goolsbee, Barkin, Waller, Logan, Schmid, Paulson, Hammack, Daly, Williams and Jefferson, Yardeni Quicktakes reported. The outlet described the remarks as their first after Democrats swept Congress. It also said the previous Friday’s employment report had been strong, while characterizing its own expectation for the officials’ overall tone as hawkish. That is the outlet’s assessment, not a statement of Fed policy.
Corporate results are another part of the week’s agenda. Moomoo’s week-ahead headline lists earnings from CoreWeave, Applied Materials, Cisco and Constellation Energy. Asianet News and TradingView list CoreWeave and Cisco among companies reporting, while TradingKey’s headline specifically names CoreWeave, Cisco and Applied Materials. Those outlets’ headlines do not provide further earnings details in the published material available here.
Yardeni Quicktakes said 13 S&P 500 companies were expected to report during the week, out of 60 companies that had yet to report their third-quarter results at the time of its preview. It said 88% of S&P 500 companies had reported by then. The outlet also cited analysts’ aggregate earnings-per-share estimates of $366.60 for this year, $426.30 for next year and $495.10 in 2028, and said those estimates could rise further. These are consensus estimates cited in the preview, not reported company results.
The previous week had been weak for major U.S. stock indexes, according to Yardeni Quicktakes: the S&P 500 fell 2.7% and the Nasdaq declined 4.9%, each recording a fourth consecutive weekly loss. The outlet said both indexes rose on Friday, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.3% and the Nasdaq 1.4%. It also noted that the Veterans Day holiday on Wednesday would close the bond market.
Will U.S. October CPI inflation, measured year over year, be above 3.0%?
